These terms apply to everyone who uses UniJobs, whether you are browsing, looking for a job or advertising one. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your personal data.
1. Who we are
UniJobs is a trading name of Solutioned Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11947499). Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
In these terms, "UniJobs", "we", "us" and "our" mean Solutioned Limited. "You" means anyone using the website at www.unijobs.ac (the "Site"), whether or not you have an account.

2. Accepting these terms
By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you create an account, you also confirm that the details you give us are true and that you will keep them up to date.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page, and changes take effect 30 days after we publish them. If a change is significant we will also tell account holders by email. If you keep using the Site after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
3. What UniJobs is
UniJobs is a job board for universities, colleges, research institutes and other organisations in higher education. We let:
- candidates search and save jobs, set up job alerts and store a CV in their account; and
- recruiters who have been verified for an institution publish job listings for that institution.
We are not an employment agency or an employer. We do not take part in any recruitment decision, and any application, interview, offer or contract is between you and the institution concerned. Most listings send you to the institution's own website or recruitment system to apply, and those sites have their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You can sign up with an email address and password, or with your Google, Microsoft or LinkedIn account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for everything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One account is for one person. Please do not share it or transfer it.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile. Section 11 explains what happens when you do.
5. Candidates
- Job alerts and saved-job reminders are sent by email. You can pause or stop them at any time from your account or with the link in each email.
- If you upload a CV, it is stored encrypted and is private to you. It is not shared with recruiters or anyone else unless we tell you otherwise and you choose to opt in to a feature that does so.
- We check listings (see section 6), but we cannot guarantee that every listing is accurate, current or genuine. Before you act on a listing, check the details with the institution. Never pay anyone to apply for a job, and never send bank details or identity documents to an unverified contact. If a listing looks wrong, use the "Report this job" link on the listing or contact us.
6. Recruiters and job listings
Verification. To post jobs you must claim your institution and show us that you are authorised to recruit for it (for example with a letter of authority and photo ID). We may approve, refuse or withdraw verification at our discretion.
Your responsibilities. When you publish a listing, you confirm that:
- the role is real, open and at the institution named, and you have permission to advertise it;
- everything in the listing is accurate, complete and not misleading, including the salary, location, closing date and how to apply;
- the listing and your recruitment process comply with the law, including the Equality Act 2010, employment law and immigration rules; and
- the listing does not ask applicants to pay anything, or to send bank or identity details before a genuine selection stage.
You must close or update a listing when the role is filled or its details change.
Checks and review. To keep the Site safe, we check listings before and after they go live. These checks may include automatic checks and an assessment by an artificial intelligence service. An institution's first listing, and any listing the checks flag, is held for a person on our team to review before it is published. We aim to do this within one working day.
Our rights over listings. We may edit a listing to correct formatting or obvious errors, and we may refuse, remove or take down any listing that breaks these terms or that we reasonably consider unsuitable. If we do, we will tell you why where we can.
How we display listings. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, format and promote your listings on the Site, in job alert and reminder emails, in our search engine listings and structured data (for example Google for Jobs), and on our social media channels.
7. Fees, enhanced listings and advertising
- Creating an account and publishing basic listings is free.
- We may offer paid options such as enhanced or featured listings and other advertising. The price and what is included will be shown before you buy, and form part of these terms.
- Paid options start once we have received cleared payment in full.
- Paid options are not refundable once they are live, except where the law requires a refund or where we remove a listing because of our own error.
- If we remove a listing because it broke these terms, no refund is due.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the Site to:
- post anything that is false, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, threatening or abusive, or that could offend others because of their race, religion, beliefs, sex, sexuality, disability or age;
- harass, impersonate or deceive anyone, or collect other people's personal data without their permission;
- send spam or unsolicited messages;
- post anything that infringes someone else's rights, including copyright and trade marks;
- upload viruses or harmful code, or try to access parts of the Site, accounts or data you are not authorised to use;
- copy, scrape or republish listings or other content from the Site in bulk, or use it to build a competing service, without our written permission; or
- break any law.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules and remove anything posted through it.
9. Our content and intellectual property
The Site, its design and its content (other than listings and material posted by users) belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Anything else needs our written permission.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us the licence described in section 6 for listings, and a licence to store and display your other content so that we can provide the Site to you.
10. Our liability to you
We provide the Site "as is". We work to keep it available, secure and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that any listing will be accurate or result in an application or a job.
We are not responsible for:
- the content of listings, which is provided by recruiters;
- any recruitment decision, or anything that happens between candidates and institutions;
- other websites we link to, including institutions' recruitment systems;
- loss of profit, business, revenue or opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss; or
- delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
If we are found liable to you, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
11. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account, and remove its listings, if the account holder breaks these terms, gives us false information, does not give us information we reasonably ask for to verify them, or uses the Site in a way that could harm other users or our business. Any money owed to us becomes payable straight away.
When an account is closed or deleted, we erase your personal details and CV as described in our Privacy Policy. Job listings posted for an institution belong to that institution and may stay on the Site until they close.
12. Indemnity
If you are a recruiter or business user, you agree to cover any losses, costs or claims we suffer because of your listings or your breach of these terms.
13. General
- These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any prices shown on the Site, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.
- If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold. We will make sure your rights are not reduced as a result.
- Nothing in these terms stops us complying with the law or with lawful requests from the police or regulators.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
