The School of Dentistry is seeking to appoint a Senior Clinical Teacher to join our clinical academic team. Working predominantly with undergraduate students, you will take responsibility for academic teaching, module leadership and for the provision of chairside clinical supervision and training. In addition, you will take specific responsibility for ensuring continuity of either primary care teaching or secondary care placements.

The School is based firmly within Primary Care and runs integrated BDS programmes (BDS international, Dental Therapy and Clinical Dental Technology), along with a range of other clinical and non-clinical programmes at all levels across the dental team. Undergraduate BDS and Dental Therapy students are located in one of four Dental Education Centres from the second year of their degree programmes.

You will be based at the Morecambe Dental Education Centre, although there will be some regional travel to the main Preston campus and, on occasion, the other Dental Education Centres in Carlisle, Blackpool and Accrington.

About you:
You will have comprehensive long-term experience of primary care dentistry in a General Dental Practice, a Primary Care Clinic, a University or a Hospital environment, along with some experience of teaching within a dental setting. Applicants must have full current registration as a dentist with the General Dental Council.

A team player, you will have the ability to explain and demonstrate practical skills, be IT literate in the use of standard Microsoft packages and will also demonstrate excellent communication skills. A commitment both to inter-professional education and to personal and professional development is required.

Benefits:
The University offers a fantastic package of rewards and lifestyle benefits, including an attractive annual leave entitlement and access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform which includes a 24/7 online GP. The University encourages colleagues to make the most of their talents and supports continual development of skills and knowledge.
