We are currently seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join our vibrant and multidisciplinary team at NIHR MindTech HealthTech Research Centre.

The role holder will serve as an Independent Assessor on the CATAPULTS study, which is a school-based randomised controlled trial to evaluate two interactive digital games that could improve attention and concentration in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). CATAPULTS is part of the RECOGNeyes for Schools project, which is a collaboration between the University of Nottingham and King's College London, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

The CATAPULTS study is being run across primary and secondary schools in the Midlands and London. Your role will be to visit primary and secondary schools across the Midlands to conduct outcome assessments with participants in the study and to support the schools taking part in the study. You will work closely with the project Principal Investigator, Dr Elizabeth Liddle and co-lead Dr Samuel Westwood, and the rest of the trial management team to ensure high-quality data collection and adherence to study procedures.

Candidates must have experience of conducting research involving human participants, with knowledge of clinical research procedures and research governance. They must have the ability to communicate effectively with parents, carers, teachers and other professionals. Experience of working within schools would be desirable.

This role would be ideally suited to someone with a background in education wishing to pursue a PhD or Doctorate in Clinical or Educational Psychology. We have an excellent track record of supporting our research assistants to successfully secure places on doctoral programmes and are committed to providing mentorship and career development support.

This is a full-time post and will be offered on a fixed term contract until 30.11.27. Candidates must have the ability to travel regularly to schools across the Midlands and a willingness to work flexibly to accommodate school timetables where necessary.

This role will involve contact with young people and their families and therefore the post holder will be required to obtain satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), in line with the University's code of research conduct and research ethics.
