The role of Estates Operations & Maintenance team member within the Directorate of Estates at the University of York campus involves working with a team of qualified colleagues to support central utility infrastructure activities. Your responsibilities include enhancing equipment reliability, providing specialist assistance, and supporting the maintenance team in various disciplines. This role would suit candidates with commercial Plumbing and Heating experience.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed
This post requires a mechanically biased tradesperson to safely maintain the University buildings' infrastructure and equipment with particular attention to the University's large district heating network that includes two energy centres containing natural gas boilers and a Combined Heat and Power plant. You may be required to offer out-of-hours support during emergencies that affect campus infrastructure.
Essential qualifications for this role include an NVQ in Plumbing and Heating and ideally hands on experience with HVAC systems.
This full-time role is offered on an open-ended contract.
The University strives to be diverse and inclusive – a place where we can ALL be ourselves. We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University.
We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements, with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff.
As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum (essential) criteria for each position will be offered an interview.
