Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - Clinical Psychology

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to join our Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme as an Academic Tutor. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the development of future Clinical Psychologists through high-quality teaching, academic support and research supervision. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong interest in research and evidence-based practice, and who are passionate about supporting trainees to contribute to the advancement of the profession.

The role sits primarily within the academic strand of the programme, but you will work collaboratively across the academic, clinical and research components of training to deliver an integrated and supportive trainee experience. We are looking for an individual with up-to-date clinical knowledge, a commitment to trainee development, and enthusiasm for helping learners become safe, competent, resilient and reflective practitioners. Experience within clinical psychology training or higher education is desirable, but we welcome applications from candidates seeking to transition into academia and will provide mentoring and support to help the successful applicant thrive in the role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide academic tutoring, mentoring and pastoral support to trainees throughout their training journey.
- Deliver teaching and contribute to the assessment of trainees across the academic curriculum.
- Supervise trainee research projects and support the development of research skills and evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the academic curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective integration of the academic, clinical and research strands of training.
- Support the personal, professional and clinical development of trainees, helping them become reflective and resilient practitioners.
- Contribute to the programme's research activity and scholarly profile through your expertise and interests.

Pay banding is equivalent to NHS Band 8b, inclusive of a Market Supplement as necessary to ensure equity of pay to NHS Banding.

It is an essential requirement of this post that you hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions' Council (HCPC). Applicants without this will not be shortlisted for this role.
