Our School offers a number of undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to contribute to our vibrant undergraduate offers in Economics. The successful candidate will also be supported in developing a solid research profile.
Required Skills and Experience:
Successful candidate must demonstrate proven experience delivering Economics modules at undergraduate level and hold a PhD in Economics (or a closely related quantitative field). You will have a track record of driving positive student outcomes, demonstrating how your teaching directly supports student retention, progression, and academic success. Experience in managing assessment cycles, marking assessments to university standards, and providing timely feedback is essential. Ideally, you will also hold a relevant teaching qualification (such as Fellowship of the HEA) and have experience utilising virtual learning environments (VLEs).
The successful candidate will demonstrate deep subject expertise in core undergraduate topics, specifically Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics. You must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to deliver an outstanding student experience that engages, inspires, and supports a diverse student body. Strong administrative and organizational skills are essential for managing module coordination, alongside a commitment to innovative, student-centred pedagogy. Additionally, you will have excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and provide high-quality academic and pastoral support to students.
Candidates will have expertise in teaching an area of Economics at undergraduate level, and experience with programmes such as STATA and SPSS. An interest or some background in Finance is welcome. The successful candidate will be supported in cultivating an outstanding research profile in Economics or Finance. It is essential that candidates hold a doctoral level qualification.
This role is eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, provided the relevant UKVI requirements are met.
It is anticipated that the selection process will include an interview and Test/Assessment.
