Lead for Student Selected Components

The School wishes to appoint a Lead for Student Selected Components to join our committed MBBS teaching team. The post is for 1.5 days per week, and must include Thursday.

Student Selected Components (SSCs) are a mandatory component of the clinical years of the MBBS and focus on the areas of clinical audit and quality improvement. The postholder will lead in delivery, management and assessment in the area of Quality Improvement within Year 4 of the MBBS programme, and will contribute to the area of clinical audit within Year 3 as required.

Applicants will have substantial and recent experience of working as a doctor and will have a full registration with the General Medical Council. You will have significant experience of research methodologies, audit and service evaluation in a clinical setting within the NHS, and of working within undergraduate medical education.

The post will be based at Burnley campus site with possible occasional travel to Preston and Westlakes (Cumbria).
