WM CISL is designed to connect the West Midlands' creative technology ecosystem, supporting businesses to collaborate with universities, access specialist capabilities, adopt new technologies and progress towards scale-up and investment. You will help translate business need into practical programmes, partnerships, challenge activities and events that deliver value for companies, researchers, students and regional stakeholders.
Working across screen, games, immersive technologies, AI and related creative technologies, you will build relationships with businesses, academics, public-sector bodies, cluster organisations and industry partners. You will broker connections, support collaborative R&D and knowledge exchange, and help ensure that programme opportunities are visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of the sector.
This role is ideal for an experienced knowledge exchange, innovation or business support professional who is passionate about creative technology and wants to help grow the West Midlands' CreaTech cluster.
About You:
You will have substantial experience of designing or delivering programmes that support businesses, innovation, economic growth or scale-up. Experience of working with SMEs, creative technology businesses or businesses applying creative technologies in other sectors is highly desirable.
You will be an effective relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and communication skills. You will be able to work confidently with businesses, senior academics, researchers, local and regional agencies, industry partners and university professional services colleagues.
You will be self-motivated, responsive and able to manage your own priorities. You will bring experience of budget monitoring, project administration or programme management and a broad understanding of how commercialisation and knowledge exchange are supported in a university environment.
A passion for the UK CreaTech agenda and a commitment to developing the West Midlands will be important to your success in this role.
Benefits include an attractive pension scheme, a generous holiday allowance plus Christmas closure, excellent learning and development opportunities, savings on a wide range of products and services, generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave policy, onsite childcare facilities, and access to flexible working. The University is a Living Wage employer.
