Fitness Instructor

You will represent the Sport and Active Lifestyle department of the University of Chester which comprises gymCHESTER, activeCHESTER, sportCHESTER and Active Wellbeing. You will provide excellent levels of customer care to all users of the gym and sports facilities as well as assist with the service delivery of the department by completing daily and weekly tasks.

You will be based in the gym at Exton Park Campus. The Gym is used by staff, students and guests of the University of Chester as well as members of the public. Other sports facilities at Exton Park include a swimming pool, gymnasium, small hall, all weather pitch, MUGA, tennis courts, squash courts, sports hall and running track.

As a qualified Fitness Instructor, you will provide guidance and excellent customer service to all members and visitors of the gym and sports facilities located at Exton Park campus. You will assist the Sport and Active Lifestyle department by planning and instructing fitness classes, conducting one-to-one training sessions, complete daily reception and administrative tasks, monitor security and safety of the gym and sports facilities, ensure the gym is hygienic and properly maintained for our members. You will also assist with additional events throughout each term, for example BUCS Wednesdays and Sport and Active Lifestyle promotional activities.

You will be required to work a shift pattern to include open and close of the gym and sports facilities and be prepared to alter shifts based on service demands. Additionally, you may undertake duties as reasonably requested and that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
