The project is focused on monitoring health and early warnings of ill health in poultry flocks through Aviasenze's novel acoustic monitoring technology.
There may be opportunity for contract extension subject to satisfactory performance and funding. The role is offered on a hybrid basis with significant on site presence required and cannot be offered as a fully remote role. The role may be undertaken as either a full time or part-time position.
About you:
Previous experience with data collection, storage, analysis and data governance is essential for this role, ideally in a farming or bird wildlife context. You will be involved in data reporting to multiple stakeholders with varied information needs in addition to some software development including front and back end applications. You will also have experience working with crop cards, avian data and ideally on-farm experience. Experience with Excel macros, Python and PyTorch is also desirable.
The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We place great value on diversity and are seeking to increase the diversity within our community. Therefore we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities.
