Applications are invited for the voluntary role of Associate Sikh Chaplain working within the Directorate of Student Life at Royal Holloway University of London.

The Associate Sikh Chaplain will work collaboratively and supportively within the University Chaplaincy Team – a well-supported interfaith staff team made up of Anglican, Catholic, Muslim, Jewish & Hindu Chaplains and a Co-ordinator. Collectively they work with other faith groups and student faith societies to benefit student and staff life on campus.

This role will be carried out on a voluntary basis with the hours adaptable to the post-holder's working schedule. It is an occupational requirement that the appointed Chaplain be a practicing Sikh belonging to a worshipping community.

We are searching for an Associate Chaplain who is committed to co-operative, constructive, and positive dialogue with other faiths. They will be a vibrant and enthusiastic person to help develop Sikh faith and worship on campus, to offer pastoral care, to be a strong, visible, and unifying presence on campus and to build and foster healthy community through outreach activity.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to equality and inclusivity, experience of innovatively and openly working with other faiths, and an understanding of the value of the diversity of our community.

Our students and staff represent a diverse range of backgrounds and the University places immense importance on ensuring harmony and open communication on our multi-religious and multicultural campuses in Egham and London. The University is strengthened by our diverse, multicultural community and Associate Chaplains will embrace and enjoy the opportunities this brings.

Our staff work within our EDI framework, to ensure that others abide by it, and to reflect our University Values of being Daring, Innovative, Open and Respectful in all they do.

The University is committed to promoting inclusivity and equality for all students and staff regardless of race, nationality, ethnic origin, gender, age, marital or parental status, dependents, disability, sexual orientations, religion, political belief, or social origins.
